Processes Tab

The Processes tab shows what dependent services are running under the main instance. (e.g. – ERM Maintenance and ERM Capture are both running under the main ERM service instance)

The Process Properties details similar information as the instances, but specifies each process and allows independent control of each, including:

Process Name - the specific name of the process.

Machine Name - the location of the process.

Instance Name – the main instance of the process.

Enabled - can toggle the process as enabled/disabled.

Log Level – allows an administrator to set verbosity of log.

Status - current status of the process as running/stopped.

Max Concurrent Tasks* - The number of tasks the service will work on simultaneously.

Use caution when adjusting this setting in a machine running many services or services that consume a large amount or resources (e.g., SQL Server).

*Available for ERM, Import, and Output (Output Manager Batch Delivery Process) services.

Max Threads Per Task* - Maximum number of threads to use for the process. Using multiple threads can greatly improve processing efficiency. However, this is dependent on the available resources of the server.

Use caution when adjusting this setting on a machine running many services or services that consume a large amount or resources (e.g., SQL Server). Processing efficiency may actually decrease when increasing the number of threads in this scenario as the overhead associated with managing the threads overwhelms the available resources.

*Available for ERM and Import services.
