The Defaults Tab allows you to set default values when a new Smart Form is started. A default value can be derived from an existing lookup, pulled from a prior field value or set from a fixed value.
Default from Lookup (String Fields only) – Check box to enable.
Lookup – Choose a predefined lookup from the drop-down menu. Lookups are only available for data types set as ‘string.’
Click the ellipsis button
to open the Lookup Manager.
Use Lookup Manager to Add, Edit or Remove Lookups used in the Lookup
or Default Tabs of the Smart Form.
Display Field Name – Corresponds to the actual name of the lookup’s table column that you want to pull into the field for indexing. See Explaining 'Values' for further explanation on ‘Values’.
Value Field Name – Corresponds to the field’s ID. See Explaining 'Values' for further explanation on ‘Values’.
Note: This option is rarely used for lookups.
Value2 Field Name – Corresponds to the field’s code. See Explaining 'Values' for further explanation on ‘Values’.
Note: This option is rarely used for lookups.
Default from field value – Check box to enable.
UI Field – Choose property from drop-down list. This option allows a field to pull in a value from a previously populated field. Can then choose: Display value, Value or Value2. This is especially useful when you want to do calculations with values from another section (e.g. – Header section Detail section)
Display Value – Corresponds to the actual name of the lookup’s table column that you want to pull into the field for indexing. See Explaining 'Values' for further explanation on ‘Values’.
Value – Corresponds to the field’s ID.

Date – Enabled only when data type is ‘date.’ Check box for current date.
Number – Enabled only when data type is ‘number.’ Type value of desired fixed value number.
Boolean – Enabled only when data type is ‘boolean.’ Default is true, check box for false
