To troubleshoot errors check the doc-link Import Service Log in Service Monitor frequently. The information contained in this log is derived from the Event Viewer log file, and is stored in the ServiceEventLog_DLImportSvc table with the doclink2 database.
Errors that occur with Import Manager are also logged in the dlErrorlog.txt file located in the same location as where the import service is installed. Typically, this location is <x>:\Program Files (x86)\Altec\doc-link3x.
Another location where a log file may reside is in the Import Archive directory. The log is named the same as the XML file containing property values. For example, if the XML is called sample.xml the log file will be named sample.log. The log will give you a written record of all documents that have been imported, properties that have been indexed for each document, and which documents have failed.
