Running the Import Service
This service is required to be running to support the XML Import process.
The service can be installed on a machine from the doc-link
Client Applications installation.
- The Import Service writes to an Event Viewer log
called doc-link log. To prevent disruption of services change
log properties to 'Overwrite Events as Needed'.
- If you are not using XML Import processing, disable
the doc-link Import Service. This will prevent the Event Viewer's
doc-link Log filling up with stop and start events.
To Start, Stop, or Restart the Import Service (Windows)
- From the Windows Start menu, type services.msc
in the Run box.
- Locate doc-link Import Service in
the details pane. If "Started" is displayed in the Status
column, Import Service is currently running. If the Status column
is blank, the service is not running.
- To change the status of the service, right-click
doc-link Import Service and select either Start,
Stop, or Restart from the menu.
To Start or Stop the Import Service (Service Monitor)
- From the Administration tab, click on the Service
Monitor tile.

Wait a few seconds, then click the Refresh button to see the
service status update to "Running."
