Rubber stamps can be configured and saved to retain color when applied to a document in doc-link: Users can apply a 'color' stamp to a black and white, or color TIFF.
If a color stamp is applied to a black and white document (Group 4 compressed TIFF), the page to which the stamp is applied will be promoted from a color depth of 1 bpp, to 8 bpp (LZW compressed TIFF).
If the page receiving the 'color' stamp is part of a multi-page document, only the page receiving the stamp is saved as 8 bpp, the rest of the document remains saved with a color depth of 1 bpp, thereby reducing the impact the color stamp has to overall TIFF file size.
