Managing the Retro-Index Queue

The Retro-Index Queue is managed in the Service Monitor and allows you to view all documents in the scheduled and triggered Retro-Index queues. Since all documents display in a Search Results window, you can easily re-index documents manually if needed.

  1. In Service Monitor, expand doc-link Indexing Service > Management > Retro-Index Queue Processing.
  2. Drill down under Services tree to doc-link Indexing Service > Management > Retro-Index Queue Processing.
  3. The Dashboard tab provides a summary of the Scheduled and Triggered retro-index queues.
  4. The Scheduled RI Queue tab section displays documents waiting to be indexed the next time scheduled Retro-Index occurs. For each document in the queue, you can see its properties.
    1. The General tab will show processing detail for each document in the queue.
    2. The Processing History tab will provide historical record of the document’s processing.
  5. The Scheduled RI Log tab allows you to view the log file for all files processed through the scheduled retro-index.
    1. Show RI Log entries for the past. Filters log view based on a timeframe. Options include 24 Hours, Week, 30 Days, 60 Days, 6 Months, and Year.
    2. Filter by Status. Filters log view based on the statuses of files in the Scheduled RI Queue. List of statuses include:
      • All
      • Invalid Doc Type
      • ApplyEdit Failed
      • Has Expected Prop
      • No AI Data Returned
      • Deferred
      • Queued
      • Expired
      • Document Deleted
      • Success
      • Incomplete
      • Error
  6. The Triggered RI Queue tab displays the number of documents waiting to be indexed in the triggered Retro-Index queue.

The maximum number of times doc-link will attempt to index a document in the Retro-Index Queue is 10,000.  If 10,000 attempts are made before the scheduled time has elapsed, the document will be marked as expired and removed from the queue.
