Configuring Multiple ERM Services

EERM can be scaled to process over multiple machines and meet the volume demands of your company over time. Multiple ERM services should only be installed if you are capturing over 10,000 ERM documents per day. If you are unsure of processing load, skip this section. A second instance of the ERM service can be installed at another time.

To run multiple ERM services in the doc-link system the following criteria must to be met:

  1. Multiple ERM services are enabled via a Product Key.
  2. Each ERM service must be installed on a separate computer.
  3. One service will be designated as the 'master'.
  4. All local printers that will be used to configure ERM input sources will only be available from the machine where the 'master' ERM service is installed.
  5. All network printers must be installed on the machine where the 'master' ERM service is installed.
  6. The first service started will automatically be designated as the 'master'. This can later be changed in the Service Monitor.
  7. Each ERM input source must be assigned to an ERM service.
  8. To install another installation of ERM, you will go to another machine and modify the installation instructions outlined in the Administrative Components & Services Installation section of the doc-link Server Install Guide. When prompted, choose a 'Custom' setup and select only the ERM service. Then complete the installation.
  9. Use the doc-link Installation Guide to install and configure Application Components proxy on the server you will be installing another instance of ERM.

The doc-link Component Services Guide should be followed on each machine running a new service. Contact support@altec-inc.com to request this guide.
