Retro-Index

Retro-Index automatically revisits a document in your database to assign a value to a property that was not indexed originally.

For example, a common property for an invoice is the check number(s) used to pay the invoice. Invoices are captured and indexed into the database prior to issuing the check. Retro-Index can be configured to automatically index the invoice with the corresponding check number when the check number becomes available.

Retro-Index can be configured as a scheduled or triggered task.

  • Scheduled Retro-Index takes place at a specified time.
  • Triggered Retro-Index takes place when a specified document is saved in DocLink.

Retro-Index is linked to documents indexed into DocLink that have a status of 'Incomplete,' which occurs when DocLink processes a document with missing expected properties. Documents remain in the retro-index queue until the status is changed to 'Complete.'

To configure Retro-Index, follow the steps outlined in the following sections:

  1. Configure Retro-Index for a Document Type.
  2. Configure the Indexing Service (in Service Monitor).
