Reprocessing ERM Errors

When ERM is unable to process a file, file information is displayed in ERM Input Source Processing in the doc-link Service Monitor. Using the Error File Status filter, you can view information about the file and reprocess the file through ERM again.

To view information about the file, select the record. The Properties section will be displayed to show more information.

The General tab contains information about the file and when it was created.

The Documents tab lists all documents contained in the file. If a file is rejected by ERM, there will be no documents associated with the file and this tab will be blank.

The Reject Info tab contains information about why the file was rejected.

To view the actual image file:

  1. From doc-link Service Monitor, select the rejected file from Errors. Right-click and select View Source File.
    1. If the file originated as an XPS file, it will launch directly in the doc-link XPS Viewer.
    2. If the file originated as an EMF spool file, it will launch directly in the doc-link EMF Viewer.
    3. If the file originated as a PCL file, it will launch directly in the ERM Configuration Viewer.

To reprocess the file:

  1. Open the file to view the contents and determine the document type.
  2. If necessary, edit the ERM configuration for the document type. Remember to use the rejected file when checking the content identifier(s) and the mapping of the properties.
  3. From doc-link Service Monitor, select the rejected file from Errors. Right-click and select Reprocess File. The file will be moved to the Pending list and ERM will attempt to process it.
