New/Edit Text Screen

Make sure you have the application screen you want to enable open and there are field values entered on the screen before proceeding.

  1. On the Quick-link New/Edit Screen window, enter or change the Screen Name.

  2. Click the Select Screen... button to launch the Quick-link Windows Identifier. This tool provides a means for Quick-link to identify and link to various window objects found on a selected screen.

  3. Once the Quick-link Windows Identifier correctly identifies a screen, the window title will be inserted in the Screen Caption field.

  4. Under Identification Options enter the text you wish to search for in the window's title bar and choose whether the window caption Begins with, Contains or Ends with your selected text. Note by default the value entered in this field will match the text displayed in the Screen Caption field.

Be sure to modify the text in this field so that it is generic for all transactions.  For example, some invoice/voucher entry screens will display a batch number in the title bar, since the same batch number will not apply to all instances of this screen, modify the text so it does not contain a batch reference.

  1. Click the Test button to test your settings.

  2. Continue to adjust options on this window until a positive test result is returned.

  3. Under Text Page Identifications enter additional text identifiers that must match on the screen in order to correctly identify the screen as Quick-link enabled. The Line, Column and Length coordinates tell Quick-link exactly where to find the text string to match on which is entered in the Value field. Click the Add button to save new coordinates and Remove to delete existing ones.

Expand the + sign next to your screen name in the folder list and click on Field Mappings to continue.
