Document Output from the Document Viewer

Click on the links below to learn about the different ways to send documents from the Document Viewer.

You must have Output permissions for the specified top-level folder and document type in order to print, email, and save documents.

 

PrintPrint

Only single documents can be printed from the DocLink Document Viewer.  Multiple documents can be printed from the Search Results.

Print Using the Toolbar Icon

  1. Click the print icon.
  2. The document is immediately sent to the printer for processing.

Print Using File > Print

  1. Select File > Print.
  2. The print dialog screen opens to modify printing preferences.
  3. Click OK to save the changes and print to the selected printer.

Print Using File > Print with Notes

  1. Select File > Print with Notes.
  2. The print dialog screen opens to modify printing preferences.
  3. Click OK to save the changes and print to the selected printer.
  4. The notes associated with the document will be printed on a separate page.

If a document has permanent annotations, they will be printed, non-permanent annotation will not be printed.

 

EmailEmail

Only single documents can be attached to an email message from the DocLink Document Viewer. Multiple documents can be emailed from the DocLink Search Results window.

Email from the Viewer

  1. Click , or select File > Email from the menu.
  2. A dialog window opens, providing options for emailing. Options include:
    • Document Format - Choose either to send the attachments as a TIFF or PDF.
    • Page Range - Select the pages you want to send.
    • Include Annotations - Select this option to included annotations, and whether you want the editable annotations to remain editable or not (excludes rubber stamp annotations and notes). If you select PDF as the output file format, all annotations will be permanent and non-editable.
    • Append Document Notes - Select this option to include document notes when emailing.
  3. The application uses your default email application to open a new blank email message with your selected document attached as a TIFF or PDF file.
  4. Address and send your email.

If a document has permanent annotations, they will be viewable in the attachment, non-permanent annotation will not unless they are included and made permanent.

 

SaveSave

The Save function will save the selected document image, as a TIFF image file, to the location you specify.

  1. Click or select File > Save from the menu.
  2. The Save As dialog will be displayed. Select the location where the document is to be saved. No editable annotations will be included when the document is saved to a file. Only annotations that have been permanently burned in to the document will be included.
  3. Browse to the location where the document is to be saved.
  4. Accept the default name (names are prefixed with the DocLink document ID number) or rename the file.
  5. Click the Save button.
