Template Properties

When a template has been opened or created, the Template Properties window pane will be enabled.

Template Properties Tab

  1. Type a name in the Template Name text box to uniquely identify the template.
  2. Under the Template Detail section, specify the source of the template. The source provides the body of the template. Choose either an html or text file OR a stylesheet (xsl).
  3. In the Data Source section, specify the data source that will be merged with this specific template. The data source will vary, based on the selected template. Use the drop-down menu to choose the data source.
  4. Check/uncheck the box to Include document as attachment. This option will only be enabled for applicable DocLink Templates (e.g. – Workflow Move Data)
  5. Optionally, check/uncheck the Convert TIFF to PDF. This option allows you to send attached documents as PDF files.

Data Tokens Tab

Data elements and tokens are pre-populated based on which DocLink Template has been opened. Tokens are identifying tags used to add dynamic properties to static templates.

  1. To add new tokens to the current template, first click on the Text tab located at the bottom of the Template Manager.
  2. Double-click the row corresponding to the Element and Token to add it to the working text area.

Email Test Tab

Use the following to configure and test the email settings:

Send Detail
  1. Type a recipient email in the To textbox.
  2. Type a sender email in the From textbox.
  3. Type a value in the Subject textbox corresponding to the email test.
  4. Check the Remember Settings box for DocLink to remember the To, From and Subject settings.
Connection
  1. Specify the type of connection to use for sending email.
    1. If the Use system SMTP configuration button is selected, the email test will use the SMTP server configured in System Settings > SMTP dialog screen.
    2. If Use external SMTP server button is selected, the email test will use the settings below for the test.
      • Type the name of the SMTP server to be used in Server.
      • Specify the Port number.
      • Specify both the User Name and Password for the SMTP server if there is specific authentication to be used.
      • Choose the encryption method from the drop-down: either None or SSL.
  2. Click the Send Test Notification button to send a test email with the template included.

The template pane can be detached from the parent Template Manager window by clicking and dragging the 'Template Properties' title bar and can be auto-hidden by clicking the Pin button.
