DocLink is capable of consuming .xml files containing property values and/or images into DocLink. There are pre-existing XML import integrations for ABBYY and Cardiff as well as a general import for all other applications that can produce XML. Additionally, Custom XML can be setup to consume an export file from other existing DocLink systems. Each of these products can utilize XML to capture and transform data which are then consumed and processed by DocLink.
Pre-existing business applications are included to support customers using XML Import who are upgrading to this version of DocLink.
It is highly recommended that you configure a new custom XML import rather than using an existing application because of additional configuration options.
The information contained in the XML file will determine the document type, top-level folder and property values. The XML file is read and processed by the DocLink Import Service.

IMPORTANT: Custom XML filenames are limited to 207 characters, for the full path of the file. If the filename character limit is exceeded, an error in Service Monitor will display the following: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters. |
