Considerations when Attaching Files

Users have the ability to attach files at the header level and by line item. The ability to attach files is controlled by a group of settings on the smart form properties configuration.

1. The Browse tile is disabled if:
   1. No detail line exists or a detail line exists and the Attachments button is selected. Clicking the Attachments button removes focus on the detail line.
   2. The user is not allowed to attach items to the smart form header.
2. The Browse tile is enabled if:
   1. A detail line exists and the user clicks the plus icon.
   2. The user is allowed to attach items to the smart form header.

Use selection as default attachment type – This option works with the Next Line control button when adding a new attachment to the next detail line item of a smart form. When selected, the system will use the last option you chose (Attach or Browse) as the method to add new detail line attachments.
