Running the Event Service
In order to send notification and run automation, the Event Service
must be running. If the service is not running, email notifications
will not be sent to users and automated process will not run.
To Start, Stop, or Restart the Event Service (Windows)
- From the Windows Start menu, type services.msc
in the Run box.
- Locate doc-link Event Service in
the details pane. If "Started" is displayed in the Status
column, Event Service is currently running. If the Status column is
blank, the service is not running.
- To change the status of the service, right-click
doc-link Event Service and select either Start,
Stop, or Restart from the menu.
To Start or Stop the Event Service (Service Monitor)
- From the Administration tab, click on the Service
Monitor tile.
- In the Services tree window click doc-link
Event Service to display the Event Service Dashboard.
- Locate the Service Status box in the bottom
right-hand corner of the window.
- If the service is "Running", click Stop.
The server status will update to "Stopped."
- If the service is "Stopped", click Start.
Wait a few seconds, then click the Refresh button to see the service
status update to "Running."
To monitor the Event Service (Service Monitor)
- From the Administration tab, click on the Service
Monitor tile.
- In the Services tree window, expand the doc-link
Event Service > Logs > Active node to display the Event
Service Log.
- Information in this grid is based on log level
set on the service dashboard.
To set the log-on properties for the Event Service (Windows)
- From the Windows Start menu, type services.msc
in the Run box.
- Locate, then right-click doc-link Event
Service and select Properties.
- Click the Log On tab.
- In the Log on as section, select This account.
- Enter the User and Password for the account that
will be used to run the service. This identity should be a domain
account and part of the local administrator group.
