Not All Property Values are Being Captured

Question: I’ve configured a document type for ERM and mapped the properties, but one of the properties has multiple values on the document and only the first one is being captured.

Response: Make sure that the mapping for multi-value properties is correct.

  1. From the Administration tab, click on the ERM Document Types tile.  Double-click on the document type to open the configuration dialog window.
  2. Select the Properties option from the left side of the screen. Next, select the property that isn’t being captured and click the Properties button. The Document Type Property window will be displayed.
  3. Click the Select Coordinates button to display the File Open dialog.
  4. Locate the directory where a sample document can be found.
  5. Select the sample document. (If you don’t see your sample, check the "Files of Type" field and make sure "All(*.*)" is selected.)

The document will be displayed in the doc-link ERM File Viewer. A box will be displayed around the previously identified location for the property. Make sure the rectangle is large enough to include all possible values for that property. If a property can have multiple values, make sure the rectangle drawn to specify the location for that property covers the entire areaSpecifying_the_Location_of_Multiple_Property_Values where the values can be found.

For example, an AP Check can contain multiple values for the Invoice # property. Therefore, the appropriate column must be specified as the location for the Invoice # property. Each value located in that area will be stored as a separate Invoice # property value.

  6. If necessary, adjust the location. Draw a new box on the sample document. The coordinates of the selected area will be displayed in the Location text boxes.
