Indexing Paths
Indexing Paths allows Administrators to create global Smart Client indexing
paths to minimize the local configuration for users that index documents.
From the Administrator, go to Manage > Indexing Paths.
Click Add, Edit or Delete to create, manage or remove
index batch folders from the list.
Add an Indexing Path
- Click on the Add button.
- The Indexing Root Folder Properties dialog window
opens and displays the Indexing Folder tab.
- On the Indexing Folder tab, type
a path or browse to a folder that will be used as an indexing
batch location.
- Local and UNC paths may be used
- It is recommended that UNC paths be used
here unless all machines have access to the same local path
on each user machine.
- Enabling Delete empty batch folders after
indexing allows doc-link to automatically delete the
batch folder after all files have been indexed into the system.
- Enabling Auto-staple Tiffs using doc-link
Separator Pages will combine bathes of documents that are
divided by separator pages. A specifically designed page (printable
from doc-link) must be used for this process.
- To print separator pages, launch the doc-link
Smart Client application.
- Go to Index > Separator Pages >
Print Separator Page.
- Enabling Convert PDFs to Tiffs during
indexing automatically changes native PDF documents into Tiffs
during the manual indexing process. The conversion allows doc-link
to repaginate and annotate documents.
- Click on the Users tab. The Users tab allows
the doc-link administrator to manage users assigned to global
indexing paths.
- To allow access for a user, click Add.
The User dialog screen opens.
- Select a single user by highlighting a row
then click OK -OR- double-click on a user to add them to
the list.
- Remove a user from the user access list
by highlighting them and clicking Remove.
- When you are done, click OK. Click
Cancel to exiit without saving any changes.
- To save your changes, click OK to close
the Indexing Root Folder Properties dialog and return to the Configure
Index Batch Folders screen.
Edit an Indexing Path
- On the Configure Index Batch Folder dialog screen,
highlight a row in the grid and click Edit -OR- double-click
on a configured index batch folder path.
- The Indexing Root Folder Properties dialog window
opens so you can make your changes.
- When you are done, click OK. Click Cancel
to exit without saving any changes.
Delete an Indexing Path
- On the Configure Index Batch Folder dialog screen,
highlight a row in the grid and click Delete.
