Indexing Paths

Indexing Paths allows Administrators to create global Smart Client indexing paths to minimize the local configuration for users that index documents.  From the Administrator, go to Manage > Indexing Paths. Click Add, Edit or Delete to create, manage or remove index batch folders from the list.

Add an Indexing Path
  1. Click on the Add button.
  2. The Indexing Root Folder Properties dialog window opens and displays the Indexing Folder tab.
    1. On the Indexing Folder tab, type a path or browse to a folder that will be used as an indexing batch location.
      • Local and UNC paths may be used
      • It is recommended that UNC paths be used here unless all machines have access to the same local path on each user machine.
    2. Enabling Delete empty batch folders after indexing allows doc-link to automatically delete the batch folder after all files have been indexed into the system.
    3. Enabling Auto-staple Tiffs using doc-link Separator Pages will combine bathes of documents that are divided by separator pages. A specifically designed page (printable from doc-link) must be used for this process.
      • To print separator pages, launch the doc-link Smart Client application.
      • Go to Index > Separator Pages > Print Separator Page.
    4. Enabling Convert PDFs to Tiffs during indexing automatically changes native PDF documents into Tiffs during the manual indexing process. The conversion allows doc-link to repaginate and annotate documents.
  3. Click on the Users tab. The Users tab allows the doc-link administrator to manage users assigned to global indexing paths.
    1. To allow access for a user, click Add. The User dialog screen opens.
    2. Select a single user by highlighting a row then click OK -OR- double-click on a user to add them to the list.
    3. Remove a user from the user access list by highlighting them and clicking Remove.
