Re-paginate Documents

Re-pagination refers to the reordering, adding or  removing pages within a multi-page document, or transferring pages from one document to another.  Re-pagination occurs in the viewer using the thumbnail view.

You can enable or disable thumbnail view in the DocLink Document Viewer by clicking the Thumbnails button in the toolbar.  Thumbnails give you a graphical representation of each page of the current highlighted document.

  • To view a page's image properties right-click it’s thumbnail and click Properties.
  • To change the background color for thumbnails, go to the viewer's Tools menu, select Options > Color tab.

The ability to re-paginate or remove pages for a document and transfer pages from one document to another is controlled through the re-paginate permission.

You must have re-pagination permissions as well as specific Top-level Folder and Document Type to complete the tasks below.

Adding a page to documentAdding a page to document

Sometimes a page in a multi-page document does not get scanned and indexed with the original document.  You can easily add a page to an existing document by doing the following:

  1. From Search Results or Workflow, highlight the document you wish to add a page to and click the Open button to open it in the viewer.
  2. From your IMTEMP folder or local desktop click and drag the scanned Tiff file of the missing page into the viewer. DocLink will create a new document in the viewer representing this missing page.
  3. Once the page is in the viewer, drag it into the thumbnail pane of the original document missing the page.

  1. From search results, highlight the document you wish to remove a page from and the document you wish to move the page to.
  2. Right-click and select Open. Both documents launch in the viewer.  If they do not open side-by-side, go to the viewer's Windows menu and select Tile Vertically.
  3. Enable thumbnail view for both documents if not already enabled. In thumbnails, highlight one or more pages from one document and drag and drop it to the new location in thumbnail view of the document you are adding pages to. If pages are moved from one document to another, property values of the receiving document are not changed.
  4. If you move the last page, or all pages of one document to another, the originating document is deleted from DocLink.
