Launch DocLink for the First Time

After receiving your login credentials via email you can open the DocLink application:

  1. Navigate to the webpage that is hosting DocLink (http://www.yourdomain.com/dlremote or http://<servername>/dlremote).
  2. Click the Prerequisites link.
  3. Click the Install the Altec Application Launcher link.
  4. On the File Download dialog, select Open.
  5. If the .NET Framework has not already been installed this computer, it will be installed now. Click Yes. Be patient. This installation will take several minutes.
  6. When the Installation Wizard appears, click Next.
  7. Select the type of setup you want to install:
    1. Complete will install DocLink.
    2. Custom is the same as Complete but allows you to select a different install directory.
  8. After you make your selection, click Next. If you selected Custom, the Custom Setup window will be displayed. Click Change… if you wish to browse to a different directory to install the application. Click Next.
  9. Click Install to begin the installation.
  10. Click Finish to exit the Installation Wizard.
  11. Click Home to return the DocLink web page.
  12. Click the Launch DocLink link. The login screen will appear.
  13. Check the Use Windows Authentication box if you would like to login to DocLink as your Windows user account.
  14. If you don’t use Windows Authentication, Enter your DocLink User ID and Password.
  15. If you wish to save your login information for future use, check the Save profile as option and name your profile. The next time you open the DocLink login dialog, your profile will display in the left hand column. You can double-click your profile to log in.
  16. If you do not want to be prompted with this login screen the next time you login you can choose a saved profile and check the use this profile for automatic login option.
  17. The application will open on the Quick Inquiry window.

As part of the login process DocLink will check the version of your client installation with the version the server is running. If client updates are available they will install automatically.

Automatic login can be disabled from the Tools menu > Disable Auto Login.
