Integration Enabler

The Integration Enabler is used as part of a screen integration.  It allows users to enable/disable the DocLink workflow window as needed, from within an integrated business application. It also keeps track of transaction changes in the business application and makes sure any corresponding documents in DocLink also get updated.

The enabler runs as a system tray application on the client workstation. The user can shut down the integration so transactions can be entered into the business application without a corresponding document being processed in DocLink. When new DocLink documents are available, users can re-enable workflow.

With the enabler you can:

Enable & Show workflow - The enabler will open workflow so users can select a document in workflow and link it to transaction data in the business application when the transaction is saved.

Enable & Hide workflow - The integration will still be active but the workflow window will be closed, the user will not be able to index new transaction from workflow but can update previously indexed DocLink documents when existing transactions are updated in the business application.

Manually Enable workflow – Force the user to always manually enable and show the workflow screen whenever opening an integrated screen. Workflow never auto-launches.

Always Enabled – Forces the integration to always launch in an Enable & Show mode whenever the user launches an integrated screen.

Disable the DocLink integration - Shuts down the integration completely, no new documents can be processed in Workflow and no updates of existing DocLink documents will occur.

Using the Integration Enabler

System Tray

The integration can be enabled/disabled by right-clicking the Integration Enabler icon in the system tray and selecting the mode you wish to run the integration in.

When the integration enabler is active, a green 'play' button will display on the icon. Expected behavior is determined based on mode properties selected from the Enabler's right-click menu.

When the integration enabler is disabled, a red 'stop' button will appear on the icon.

When the integration enabler is active and hidden (enable and hide mode), a yellow 'play' button will appear on the icon. If this setting is checked, the integration will run in the background and Workflow will not open when a user opens an integrated data entry screen. Integration will handle updates to existing documents but the user cannot index new documents via Workflow.

Floating Toolbar

On the initial launch of the workflow and document viewer, in integrated mode, the Integration Enabler displays as a toolbar. This happens only once. Subsequent launches of workflow in integrated mode may require you to select the Tools drop down menu and click the Show Integration Enabler Toolbar option.

By default, Integration Enabler launches in the last remembered state. For example: if a user is on a data entry screen and manually close workflow (enable & hide) the next time the user returns to that screen the Integration Enabler launches in the same state.

This default behavior can be over written by checking either Manually Enable or Always Enabled from the Integration Enabler's right-click menu.
