What's New in DocLink

The 4.0 release of DocLink builds on Altec's flagship enterprise document management offering by delivering exciting new capabilities and a closer alignment with Altec's strategy to offer platform choices including on-premise and cloud deployments of DocLink.

Release Highlights

DocLink 4.0 introduces a completely redesigned web client packed with the users features found in Smart Client including:

  • Full index and re-index capability
  • Workflow Supervisor
  • Workflow Delegation
  • The ability to export search results
  • A new integration enabler for linking your business application
  • And more!

We've also added a new color scheme and some great tools so your administrator can make your first use of DocLink Web even easier

  • The Administrator can specify the default options and a default order of search results columns in the web client system-wide. Once logged in, the user can modify the settings.
  • The Administrator can configure properties as hidden (which means they won't be displayed in the property list in advanced search or as a column in search results). Some properties are important for use in smart forms or your ERP integration – but not useful when searching or sorting documents. Those properties can now be configured as hidden properties, so they don’t get in the way while you are looking for documents.

A new data gateway is now available that allows Altec's pre-packaged integrations with on-premise business applications to work with DocLink Cloud. If you migrate to DocLink Cloud, your current screen integrations and GL smart form can operate with your on-premise business application. If your organization has been contemplating a move to DocLink Cloud, this release may open some new opportunities for you.

For those of you utilizing our SDK, a REST Integration API has been added. This web API allows you to create, retrieve and delete entries for transfer of data to and from DocLink – and it's available for DocLink on-premise and DocLink Cloud users. You can also add documents to the DocLink repository and retrieve documents by DocID.

Please note that DocLink is a modular system. If you have any questions regarding the specific modules required for any of the functionality described in this document please contact Lori Corbino, Customer Care Manager, at LoriCorbino@altec-inc.com.

Hardware and software requirements for DocLink 4.0 are specified in the DocLink 4.0 Release Guide.
