Configure a Rubber Stamp

  1. Open the Stamp Template window.
    1. From the Administration tab, click on the Rubber Stamps tile.
    2. To create a new stamp, click the Add button.
  2. Enter a Stamp Template Name to uniquely identify the stamp template.
  3. Enter the Stamp Template Text you want to display in your stamp. Use the buttons at the top of the text window to automatically add Date, Time, User ID, Full Name, and/or User Description tags. These tags tell DocLink to insert the current date, time or user login when the stamp is applied to a document. Buttons are disabled until you enter a stamp template name.
  4. Check the Allow Editing option if users can change or add text to the stamp.
  5. The Redact underlying text option allows the user to add a permanent redaction onto a document. Select this to add the default color, black, or choose from a variety using the drop down.

If 'Allow editing' is also selected for the stamp, only the text will be edit-able, not the redact color.

  6. To customize the look of the stamp, click the Font button. The font dialog will open. Select the font, formatting, and font size you want to use. Click OK to save your changes and return to the Stamp Template window.
  7. Click the Roles tab to assign stamps to roles. The grid displays all Roles that the current stamp has been associated with.
  8. To associate the current stamp template with a role, click the Add button. The Select Roles dialog is displayed. All roles that have not already been associated are displayed in the grid.
    1. To locate a role in the displayed list, enter a text string located within the item and click Find Now. The roles that contain the text string will be displayed in the grid. Click Clear to refresh the grid.
    2. Select one or more roles and click OK.
  9. To remove the association between the current stamp template and one of the roles in the grid, select the role and click the Remove button.
  10. In order for members of a role to be able to use the stamp, the role must grant explicit permission to use stamps.
