Configure Multiple Barcode Services

For high volume customers, DocLink Barcode has multi-instance capabilities.

The number of barcode services is controlled by product license key.

1. Use the DocLink Server Installation Guide to install and configure administrative components on the server you will be installing a second instance of Barcode.
2. Install a second instance of Barcode. When prompted for the type of installation, choose Custom. From the list of features, expand the DocLink Services tree. Right-click on Barcode Service and select 'install component'. Finish the installation.
3. Open the Service Monitor > DocLink Barcode Service > Management > Service Configuration, and edit an input source:
   1. Check the Source Path, use UNC paths to designate the path. Local paths for one server will not be applicable for barcode service instances installed on other servers.
   2. Under Barcode Service Instance, select the service you wish to assign to this input source. Each service must be started at least once to populate this drop-down.
   3. Click OK to save your changes and return to the previous window.
   4. Repeat these steps for each source you wish to assign to a specific barcode service instance.
4. Restart each barcode service to pick-up your changes.
