Barcode Input Source - General Tab

  1. In the Source Name field, enter a unique name to identify your source.
  2. In Source Path, click the Browse button to navigate to the network share you wish to use as a barcode source.

Each barcode source requires a separate path. To process all sub-directories, check the corresponding box in the middle of the window, otherwise subdirectories will be ignored.

  3. Use the drop-down to select the Barcode Service Instance.

If you only have one instance of barcode service installed, you can leave it as <default to master>.

  4. From the Default Document Folder drop-down list, select an appropriate top-level folder to associate with the barcode source
  5. Specify a Rejected Document Type from the corresponding drop-down list.

If a document type cannot be determined during processing the document will be indexed as the document type selected here.

  6. If you want to process subdirectories of the Source Path, check this box.
  7. If this input source will be processing multi-page documents, check Enable multi-page processing.

Append to the previously processed document.

    1. If the same barcode is required on each page for document types in this source, check Barcode is required on each page.
    2. If a page with a missing barcode is treated as a separate document and not a part of the original, check If barcode is missing, index page a separate document. (of the same exact document type and properties as the last document)
    3. If the DocLink top-level folder (company) should match the default folder setup in the Source folder, check Document Folder of parent doc must match current page.
  8. If the source will only be processing multi-page documents where page order is not defined within the barcode date and pages will be dropped in the input source in the correct order, select an appropriate Multi-page timeout. Barcode will append new pages to the last document successfully processed if it is received within the specified time period (hours and minutes).

If a page is processed outside the given timeout period, the page is flagged as the rejected document type selected in Step 5 and saved.

Each time a new page is processed the timeout clock is reset.

  9. The Active checkbox is selected by default. Uncheck to deactivate the input source.
