Current Session Activity

The Current Activity tab displays current usage of monitored licensed products as well as open user sessions and running processes.

License Usage - this section shows a count of active licenses. Administrators can see the type of license being used, how many are currently being used, maximum number of licensed available, and a brief description of the license.

Sessions - this section shows currently running processes. Here, data about each running process is organized and presented to show administrators who is using what measure of DocLink at any given point.

Since activity dates are given, administrators may use this interface to determine what users have been idle for a long duration while taking up concurrent licenses and end their sessions if needed.

End SessionEnd Session

Allows for the ability to end user sessions that no longer need to be open and to resolve issues with services that may get hung up due to being improperly shut down (e.g.: Barcode, ERM, and Import Service).

  1. End a user session:
    • Locate and highlight a user in the grid.
    • Click on End Session.
    • Click Refresh, if necessary, to update the Sessions list.
  2. Release a service license (Barcode, ERM, and Import only):
    • If a DocLink service fails to start or is hung-up, kill the process in Windows Task Manager
    • Locate and highlight the license in the grid
    • Click Refresh, if necessary, to update the Sessions list.
    • Start the service using the Service Monitor or through the Windows services screen.

Barcode, ERM, and Import are the only services where more than one instance can run in a single environment. As a result, each instance will utilize a license and be visible in the License Usage section.
